The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia has named Douglas Hock executive vice president and COO, effective Feb. 1.
Here are four things to know about Mr. Hock.
1. He spent the last 28 years of his career as an executive at Children's Medical Center Dallas and Houston-based Texas Children's Hospital.
2. He currently serves as president and COO of Children's Medical Center Dallas.
3. As COO of Children's Medical Center Dallas, he managed a 428-bed hospital with $1.1 billion in revenue. He also opened a 72-bed satellite hospital, oversaw significant safety improvements, implemented significant cost reductions, led the adoption of high-level EHRs and improved patient and family satisfaction, hospital officials said.
4. Mr. Hock earned a bachelor's degree in business and economics from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., and a Master of Business Administration from Rice University in Houston.
