Tacoma, Wash.-based CHI Franciscan Health appointed Michael H. Anderson, MD, a retired rear admiral, as CMO.
Here are five notes:
1. Dr. Anderson has served as interim CMO of CHI Franciscan since February 2016.
2. He served for more than 34 years in the United States Navy, after which he joined CHI Franciscan Health's Harrison Medical Center-Bremerton (Wash.), where he was vice president of medical affairs.
3. He earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, School of Medicine in Bethesda, Md., and his master's degree in health administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
4. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Practitioners.
5. In his new role, Dr. Anderson will oversee medical affairs, medical staff services, regulatory affairs and quality care for all eight CHI Franciscan hospitals.
