Jennifer Sullivan left her position as CEO of Hornell, N.Y.-based St. James Mercy Hospital, and the hospital board named Leo Brideau as interim president and CEO, according to The Evening Tribune.
Ms. Sullivan had led the hospital since 2013, and her departure was accompanied by that of CFO Stan Konopko, who also joined the hospital in 2013. Mr. Brideau has served as a liaison between St. James Mercy Hospital and Rochester, N.Y.-based UR Medicine for three years.
Hospital staff was notified of the executive shakeup Feb. 22, and no motives were given for the moves, though Susan Gray, the hospital's board chairman, said Ms. Sullivan and Mr. Konopko were not fired.
"The board is deeply grateful for [Ms.] Sullivan's and [Mr.] Konopko's leadership, dedication and hard work," Ms. Gray said, according to The Evening Tribune. "In their time at the helm of the organization, they fought to preserve St. James Mercy as a viable community institution, and to pave the way for both our planned affiliation with UR Medicine and the new St. James Mercy Hospital and Hornell Medical Village."
