John Rudd, president and CEO of Ithaca, N.Y.-based Cayuga Health System and Cayuga Medical Center, is retiring in fall 2019.
Here are five notes:
1. Mr. Rudd has worked at the medical center for 23 years, previously serving in numerous leadership roles, such as CFO.
2. He was instrumental in the establishment of Cayuga Health System, formed in 2014, when Cayuga Medical Center partnered with Schuyler Hospital.
3. Mr. Rudd became president and CEO of Cayuga Health System and Cayuga Medical Center six years ago.
4. During his tenure, the health system invested in major renovation and expansion of surgical services as well as a new maternity unit.
5. Martin Stallone, MD, vice president of physician operations at Cayuga Medical Center and president of Cayuga Medical Associates, will succeed Mr. Rudd on Jan. 1, 2019. They will work together during the transition, until Mr. Rudd departs in the fall.
