Mark Sullivan will step down as president and CEO of Buffalo, N.Y.-based Catholic Health on Aug. 31.
Mr. Sullivan is leaving his role after a 30-year career with the organization, according to a news release. Joyce Markiewicz, RN, Catholic Health's executive vice president and chief business development officer, was selected to succeed Mr. Sullivan.
Mr. Sullivan has held various roles during his tenure at Catholic Health, including director of operations and CEO of home care. He also served as Catholic Health's first COO before taking the helm in 2018.
He now "plans to pursue opportunities to mentor, educate, and prepare the next generation of healthcare executives," according to the release.
Ms. Markiewicz has also held various roles at Catholic Health, including president and CEO of home care and president and CEO of home- and community-based care. She has served as executive vice president and chief business development officer since 2019.
She will become the fifth president and CEO in Catholic Health's 25-year history, effective Sept. 1, according to the release.
