York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health has named Carrie Willetts senior vice president for the health system and president of WellSpan Ephrata (Pa.) Community Hospital.
Here are eight things to know about Ms. Willetts.
1. She begins her new role Jan. 11, 2016.
2. In her new role, Ms. Willetts will be responsible for the day-to-day operating activities and oversee the performance improvement and patient experience initiatives of the 130-bed Ephrata. She will also be executive leader for WellSpan's system of care in Lancaster County.
3. She has experience in operations, strategic planning, physician relations and financial management.
4. Before she accepted her new position, Ms. Willetts was in leadership positions at Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare.
5. Most recently, she was vice president of operations of Hampton, Va.-based Sentara CarePlex Hospital. In that role, she oversaw operations of 12 clinical and non-clinical departments and led business development initiatives for the hospital.
6. Ms. Willetts previously was director of orthopedics, spine, sports medicine and rehab services at Harrisonburg, Va.-based Sentara RMH Medical Center. She also previously served six years as administrative director of Charlottesville-based University of Virginia Health System's physical medicine and rehabilitation services.
7. She has a master's degree in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and a bachelor's degree in health services administration from James Madison University in Harrisonburg.
8. Ms. Willetts succeeds John Porter Jr., who was named executive vice president and COO of WellSpan Health in early 2015 but has remained at Ephrata until his successor was selected.
