Danny Wharton, RN, has been appointed CNO of Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in Hartsville, S.C., part of Franklin, Tenn.-based Capella Healthcare.
Here are six things to know about Mr. Wharton.
1. He began his new position Jan. 4.
2. He joins CPRMC from Camden, S.C-based KershawHealth, where he has been serving as director of ancillary and post-acute services. He has also served as director of ancillary and emergency services at KershawHealth.
3. Prior to KershawHealth, he was nursing operations director and manager of ICU/family care unit at Sisters of Charity Provident Hospitals in Columbia, S.C.
4. Mr. Wharton also previously was clinical director of ICU and telemetry at Lancaster, S.C.-based Springs Memorial, and as a critical care nurse at Union Regional Medical Center in Monroe, N.C.
5. He began his career in the United States Air Force as an aerospace medicine technician–senior airman.
6. Mr. Wharton earned his bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and his master's degree in health administration from Bellevue University in Omaha, Neb.
