CarePoint Health, a health system based in Bayonne, N.J., has appointed W. Peter Daniels executive vice president and COO.
Here are five things to know about Mr. Daniels.
1. In his senior leadership role, Mr. Daniels will supervise the overall system operations of CarePoint Health including all three hospitals, outpatient facilities and physician offices.
2. Mr. Daniels brings more than 30 years of experience in hospital administration and management to CarePoint Health.
3. Prior to joining CarePoint Health, Mr. Daniels was COO of hospital services at Cook County Health and Hospital System, a large and complex healthcare system in Illinois. While there, Mr. Daniels led a team that improved operational performance in the emergency department at Chicago-based John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital, resulting in a 35 percent decrease in wait times and a 75 percent decrease in patients leaving without being seen; helped improved processes and services across the health system and served in a leadership role for the redevelopment plan of the system's Central Campus, including new outpatient and administrative spaces.
4. Throughout his career, Mr. Daniels has held a number of senior leadership positions at major New York metropolitan area healthcare systems including as president of Brick, N.J.-based OceanMedicalCenter, a member of the Meridian Health System in New Jersey.
5. Mr. Daniels joins the leadership team along with Kirat Kharode, executive vice president and chief strategy officer, who joined CarePoint Health from Jersey City (N.J.) Medical Center this spring.
