Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health selected Sandra J. Todd-Atkinson, BSN, EdD, RN, to serve as CEO of Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale and Alice Taylor, BSN, MSN, as CEO of Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach, Fla.
Here are eight notes:
1. Dr. Todd-Atkinson joined Broward Health in 2012, initially serving as chief nurse officer and COO at Broward Health Imperial Point in Fort Lauderdale.
2. She then took on the role of COO at Broward Health Medical Center and Salah Foundation Children's Hospital, also in Fort Lauderdale.
3. Prior to joining Broward Health, she worked at Nash UNC Health Care in Rocky Mount, N.C., for 22 years.
4. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and an associate member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
5. She received the 2016 Guardian of Excellence Award for Employee Engagement by Press Ganey Associates.
6. Ms. Taylor most recently served as CEO at Broward Health Imperial Point.
7. She has previously served as COO of Broward Health Medical Center and CEO of Schneider Regional Medical Center in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
8. In 2014, Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce named Ms. Taylor "Business Woman of the Year."
Both Dr. Todd-Atkinson and Ms. Taylor will report to Broward Health Interim President and CEO Beverly Capasso. Broward Health is still searching for a permanent leader.
