South Boston, Va.-based Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital appointed Brian Zwoyer, DNP, RN, its new chief nurse executive.
Four things to know:
1. Dr. Zwoyer spent the past five years as the director of inpatient surgical services, adult critical care and the emergency department at University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville.
2. He received the Distinguished Nurse Manager Award from the UVA Health System in 2012.
3. Dr. Zwoyer is an American Organization of Nurse Executives' Nurse Manager Fellow.
4. Dr. Zwoyer received a master of science degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix and a doctor of nursing practice degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va.
