Boston Medical Center Health System on Feb. 14 announced its first chief officers for strategy, transformation and digital information.
Cindy Bo was selected as senior vice president and chief strategy officer to lead the organization's strategic plan and priorities with a focus on innovation, growth and community and behavioral health integration, according to a news release shared with Becker's. Ms. Bo was most recently at Jacksonville, Fla.-based Nemours Children's Health, where she served as senior vice president of strategy and business development for the Wilmington, Del., region.
Jesse Souweine also was selected as senior vice president and chief transformation officer at BMCHS to lead the development, execution and sustainability of work that aligns with the organization's strategic plan, according to the release. Previously, Ms. Souweine served as executive vice president and COO at the Cambridge, Mass.-based Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
Additionally, BMCHS named Joy Brown, Verizon Media veteran executive and digital transformation strategist, as senior vice president and chief digital information officer, according to the release. The organization said Ms. Brown's focus will be "to evolve the health system's digital capabilities to improve healthcare access, efficiency and outcomes."
Other newly created and expanded executive leadership roles announced by BMCHS:
Robert Biggio was appointed senior vice president and chief sustainability and real estate officer at BMCHS, which the health system said is "to reflect his growing role and work on carbon reduction in recognition of the major impact global warming will have on our communities." Previously, Mr. Biggio served as senior vice president of facilities and support services.
Rachel Felix was promoted to the newly created role of senior vice president and chief marketing and growth officer. BMCHS said Ms. Felix will oversee "the strategy and intersection of key stakeholders through marketing and communications, development, community engagement and external affairs, and mission initiatives and engagements." She joined BMCHS in 2022 after serving as vice president and head of brand management at Somerville, Mass.-based Mas General Brigham.
"This deeply accomplished leadership team will help us reshape how we deliver care to our patients and members in a fully integrated system, from cutting-edge clinical treatments to groundbreaking research to unique partnerships in the community," Alastair Bell, MD, president and CEO of the health system, said in the release.

The health system includes Boston Medical Center, WellSense Health Plan, Boston University Medical Group, Boston HealthNet, Boston Accountable Care Organization, and Clearway Health, a pharmacy solutions company.
