Dan Friedrich, CEO of Bradenton, Fla.-based Blake Medical Center, will retire after 15 years of service, according to the Bradenton Herald.
Mr. Friedrich oversaw the creation of the 383-bed hospital's trauma center, the first of its kind in Manatee County. Mr. Friedrich also oversaw the establishment of a burn unit and a specialized center for hand surgery.
"I'm going to retire and start a new phase of my life," said Mr. Friedrich. "It's something we all start to think about when we get older. Being a CEO of a hospital is a 24/7 job and at some point you need to regenerate yourself and go do something a little bit different."
