Boston-based Steward Health Care System has named Beth Hughes president of St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, its flagship hospital in Brighton, Mass., according to a report from The Boston Globe.
Here are four things to know about Ms. Hughes.
1. She begins her new job Nov. 30.
2. Prior to joining Steward, Ms. Hughes was regional president overseeing two hospitals and more than 3,000 employees at Chicago-based Presence Health.
3. She also previously was in executive roles at other hospitals in Illinois and New Hampshire, according to the report.
4. Ms. Hughes will take over for Roger Mitty, MD, chairman of medicine at St. Elizabeth's, who has been interim president of the hospital since October 2014.
