Royal Oak, Mich.-based Beaumont Health has appointed Carolyn Wilson, RN, executive vice president and COO.
Here are six things to know about Ms. Wilson.
1. She will join Beaumont Health Jan. 18.
2. In her new position, Ms. Wilson will ensure systematic, coordinated operations and patient care across Beaumont Health hospitals.
3. Prior to Beaumont Health, she worked at Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis, a system comprised of the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, five community hospitals, nearly 100 primary and specialty care clinics, 53 senior housing locations and 30-plus retail pharmacies. There, she was executive vice president and COO overseeing operations of UMMC, community hospitals, specialty clinics, shared clinical services, system facility services, home care, long-term care and hospice. She also was president of UMMC and co-president of University of Minnesota Health.
4. Previously, Ms. Wilson held a series of positions at the University of Chicago and University of Chicago Medical Center from 1998-2011. She was UCMC COO and associate dean, vice president for faculty practice administration, COO of the University of Chicago Practice Plan and director of managed care operations.
5. Ms. Wilson has served on the Metro Governing Council of the American Hospital Association and on the University HealthSystem Consortium Academic Medical Center Affinity Board of Managers.
6. She earned a Master of Business Administration from Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill., and a bachelor's degree in nursing at Chicago-based Rush University.
