BayCare, a health system based in Clearwater, Fla., has made new leadership appointments for BayCare Medical Group and St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Here are four things to know about the appointments.
1. Bill Ulbricht, president of St. Anthony's Hospital, has been named chief administrative officer for BayCare Medical Group, the largest multi-specialty physician group in the greater Tampa Bay area. As president of St. Anthony's, Mr. Ulbricht has led major expansions including the opening of a new emergency center and patient care tower in January 2012. Additionally, the affiliation between St. Petersburg-based Suncoast Medical Clinic and St. Anthony's which culminated in the opening of a new clinic facility in December 2012.
2. Andrew Fink, MD, director of physician services at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital in New Port Richey, Fla., has been named CMO for BayCare Medical Group. Dr. Fink, a BayCare Medical Group internist at Morton Plant North Bay, currently serves as the part-time director of physician services. He also was vice president of Morton Plant Mease Primary Care.
3. Scott Smith, president of St. Joseph's Hospital-South in Riverview, Fla., has been tapped to lead St. Anthony's Hospital as president. Mr. Smith has experience in opening the new 90-bed St. Joseph's Hospital-South in 2015. He previously served as CEO of Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, Ga., Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon,Va., and Lake Wales (Fla.) Medical Center.
4. Kevin Corrigan, BayCare Medical Group's current chief administrative officer, and Lee Kirkman, MD, the medical group's CMO, announced their retirement earlier this year, which created the openings for the new positions.
