Tommy Smith, president and CEO of Louisville, Ky.-based Baptist Healthcare System, has announced his intent to retire next April, according to a Courier-Journal report.
Mr. Smith has been an administrator at Baptist for 37 years, having led three of its five hospitals — Baptist Hospital East in Louisville, Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky., and Baptist Hospital Northeast in La Grange, Ky. Mr. Smith was named president and CEO of the system in 1995.
