Johnson City, Tenn.-based Ballad Health named two new executives in its Southwest market region, effective Nov. 4.
Melanie Stanton, RN, was named CEO of Franklin Woods Community Hospital in Johnson City. Currently vice president of quality improvement at Ballad Health, she has 20 years of healthcare experience, She began her career as a staff nurse at Johnson City Medical Center and holds an MBA from King University in Bristol, Tenn.
Ms. Stanton succeeds Patricia Baise, RN, who recently was promoted to president of the Ballad Behavioral Health Services division.
Brian Dawson, MD, will become CMO of the Ballad Health facilities in Washington County, Tenn., including Franklin Woods Community Hospital, Johnson City Medical Center, Niswonger Children’s Hospital and Woodridge Hospital, all located in Johnson City.
He is a vice president of Walnut Creek, Calif.-based VEP Healthcare, an emergency medicine and hospitalist staffing firm, where he's responsible for contract management. He has also worked at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va., since 2010, serving in roles of increasing responsibility, including chief of staff and regional director for emergency medicine in the Northeast market.
He holds an MBA from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
