El Segundo, Calif.-based Avanti Hospitals has appointed Steven Blake CFO. Avanti Hospitals owns and operates Memorial Hospital of Gardena (Calif.), Community Hospital of Huntington Park (Calif.), Coast Plaza Hospital in Norwalk, Calif., and East Los Angeles Doctors Hospital.
Here are four things to know about Mr. Blake.
1. Previously, Mr. Blake worked for Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare as regional vice president of finance. In this position, he was responsible for the financial management of numerous Tenet assets covering California, Arizona, Washington, Nebraska and Texas.
2. He most recently was president and owner of a California Licensed Accountancy Corporation and CFO and executive vice president of Integrated Healthcare Holdings.
3. Mr. Blake also has previous experience as past president for the Southern California Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Health Care Expert Panel, and a former trustee for the California Hospital Association.
4. Mr. Blake earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Business Administration from Seattle-based University of Washington.
