Ed Park, an athenahealth executive who has been with the company for nearly 20 years, will step down from his position at the end of the year.
Mr. Park is currently executive vice president and COO of the Watertown, Mass.-based company. He joined the company in 1998 as chief software architect, and in 2007 became chief technology officer.
Athenahealth plans to elect Mr. Park to its board of directors.
Kyle Armbrester, senior vice president and chief product officer, will take over duties for Mr. Park in addition to continuing to lead the inpatient division.

"The team is on track to create a defining company enabling a world where healthcare works as it should, and I look forward to helping guide that continued effort as an active board member."
