St. Louis-based Ascension has appointed two regional financial officers with more than 40 years of combined experience in healthcare finance, a spokesperson for the health system confirmed to Becker's.
Melissa McLeroy was appointed regional financial officer for Ascension's Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Indiana, Illinois and Maryland ministries. She has a proven track record of driving financial, operational and strategic improvements, according to the health system.
Robert Wilson, an innovative leader with nearly two decades of experience in the industry, was named regional financial officer for Ascension's Florida, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Michigan and Alabama ministries.
Ascension is one of the largest nonprofit systems in the country with 136 hospitals across 18 states, according to its website. It is also reorganizing its portfolio with hospital sales proposed in markets including Illinois and Alabama.
The Catholic system includes about 131,000 employees and 37,000 affiliated providers and 136 hospitals.
