St. Louis-based Ascension is creating a new leadership team, as several key members transition from their current roles, effective July 1.
Ascension CEO Anthony R. Tersigni, EdD, who will retire Dec. 31, is transitioning out of the CEO role come July. He will retain the role of board chair for Ascension's new healthcare investment fund, Ascension Capital. He will also provide consultative services to the Ascension board.
Anthony J. Speranzo will transition from his role as executive vice president and CFO to become president and CEO of Ascension Capital.
Joseph R. Impicciche, Ascension's current president and COO, will become transitional president and CEO. He previously served as Ascension's executive vice president and general counsel.
Ascension's new leadership team, a mix of longtime and new leaders, will report to Mr. Impicciche.
They are:
• Executive vice president, performance optimization and nursing operations: Karen Springer
• Executive vice president and CFO: Elizabeth Foshage
• Executive vice president and COO: Craig Cordola
• Executive vice president and chief strategy and innovations officer: Eduardo Conrado
• Executive vice president and general counsel: Christine Kocot McCoy
• Executive vice president, clinical and network services: Joe Cacchione, MD
• Executive vice president and chief marketing and communications officer: Nick Ragone
• Executive vice president and chief of staff: Eric Engler
In addition:
• Herbert J. Vallier will continue to serve as executive vice president and chief human resources officer.
• Sister Maureen McGuire will continue to serve as executive vice president and chief mission integration officer.
• Sister Bernice Coreil, senior executive adviser to the president and CEO, will step down, effective Dec. 31.
