Ascension hospitals president Robert Hoban to run foundation before retiring

Robert Hoban, president of Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit and Ascension River District Hospital in East China, Mich., is leaving the role for a leadership position with the Ascension Michigan Foundation until his retirement next year, according to Crain's Detroit Business.

Mr. Hoban will become president of the Ascension Michigan Foundation, through June 2020, when he will retire. The foundation is the umbrella organization for a number of hospital foundations, a spokesperson told Crain's.

Since 2001, Mr. Hoban has worked within the St. Louis-based Ascension's Michigan region, which includes 15 hospitals.

Kevin Grady, MD, currently CMO of Ascension St. John Hospital, will succeed Mr. Hoban Aug. 19. Dr. Grady is a pulmonary and critical care physician who has worked at the hospital for 33 years, according to the report.
