Kathy Silver is retiring as CEO of Las Vegas' University Medical Center of Southern Nevada on July 1, according to a Las Vegas Review-Journal report.
Ms. Silver has led the financially-troubled center since 2007. She said now is a good time for her to leave because UMC is beginning its transition into an academic teaching hospital.
Although a replacement has not been named, Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani said she thinks UMC's COO Brian Brannman would be a good choice because of his military background, according to the report.
