Angela Igo named CNO of Fitzgibbon Hospital: 5 things to know

Angela Igo, MSN, RN, began her role as CNO of Marshall, Mo.-based Fitzgibbon Hospital Jan. 5.

Here are five things to know about Ms. Igo.

1. She is taking over the role held for nearly three decades by Lynne Ott, MSN, RN, who retired.

2. In her new role, she said her priority will be on maintaining excellence in patient care and encouraging the professional development of nurses, according to a news release.

3. Ms. Igo earned her board certification as nurse executive in 2009, and started her career at Fitzgibbon Hospital in 1998.

4. At Fitzgibbon Hospital, she has served as both a staff nurse and nurse manager in the ICU. She has also worked on the medical-surgical floor and in the emergency department. Additionally, she was a care coordinator.

5. She earned her master's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2012. Her degree emphasis was in leadership in nursing and healthcare systems. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo., in 1998.
