Maryjane Wurth, executive vice president and COO of the American Hospital Association, plans to retire next year.
Ms. Wurth joined the association four years also and since then has led the creation of the AHA Center for Health Innovation and headed a task force to increase hospitals' and health system's engagement with the association.
Previously, she served as president and CEO of the Illinois Health and Hospital Association and prior to that, she was COO of the Healthcare Association of New York State.
Michelle Hood, current president and CEO at Northern Light Health in Brewer, Maine, will succeed Ms. Wurth as COO of the association next year.
Ms. Hood serves on the association's board of trustees and executive committee and chairs the board of trustees' operations committee.
