The American Medical Association has inaugurated Jeremy Lazarus, MD, a Denver psychiatrist in private practice, as its 167th president.
In addition to operating his private practice, Dr. Lazarus serves as a clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine and as a voluntary professor of psychiatry at the University Of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. He was first elected to the AMA board of trustees in 2003. He served as speaker and vice-speaker of the House of Delegates, the AMA's primary policy-making body. Dr. Lazarus has also chaired several AMA task forces on a wide range of issues.
