Oakland, Calif.-based Alameda Health System has announced the appointment of Daniel Boggan, Jr. as interim CEO, beginning Dec. 15.
In this role, Mr. Boggan will serve as the principal liaison between AHS senior management and its board. He will focus on accomplishing various aspects of AHS' strategic plan and ensuring short-term financial success.
Mr. Boggan served on AHS' Board of Trustees from 2005 to 2014, led the Board as president from 2010 to 2013 and served on the CEO search committee that brought the current CEO, Wright L. Lassiter, to AHS. He has more than 40 years of experience in public administration roles and an extensive financial background. Mr. Boggan also has a master's degree in social work from the University of Michigan.
Mr. Lassiter announced plans to leave AHS to become president of Henry Ford Health System in September. He has already begun working with Mr. Boggan to ensure a coordinated transition.
