Akron (Ohio) Children's Hospital named Michael E. Kelly, MD, PhD, chief research officer, leading the Rebecca D. Considine Research Institute and overseeing research activities across Akron Children's.
Here are four things to know:
1. Most recently, Dr. Kelly served as the medical director of the pediatric cancer program at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and associate professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin, both based in Milwaukee.
2. He also served as co-director of the Pediatric BioBank and Analytical Tissue Core at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and a research unit leader at its research institute.
3. He is a member of American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology's Vascular Anomalies Consortium Development Committee as well as the Children's Oncology Group's Voting Body.
4. He completed his fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at St. Louis Children's Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine.
