Auburn, Ind.-based DeKalb Health has named Craig Polkow CEO, effective Aug. 3.
Here are five things to know about Mr. Polkow.
1. Mr. Polkow will take over for Emilio Vazquez, MD, who has been serving as interim CEO since Fred Price resigned from the post in late January.
2. Mr. Polkow has more than 25 years of healthcare experience.
3. Mr. Polkow comes to DeKalb Health from St. Thomas Health in Nashville, Tenn., where he most recently was executive vice president and CFO.
4. During his tenure at St. Thomas Health, Mr. Polkow directed fiscal operations for the five-hospital system, which includes 13 ambulatory surgery centers, eight imaging centers, a 250-member physician practice and other subsidiaries.
5. Prior to his time in Nashville, Mr. Polkow was CFO of Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind., and served as interim CEO. Mr. Polkow also previously was CFO of DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn and Madison Center in South Bend, Ind.
