Thomas Miller retired as the president and CEO of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Quorum Health but he will still work closely with the system, according to a May 23 SEC filing.
Here are four things to know about Mr. Miller's retirement:
1. Mr. Miller will receive $1.35 million in severance pay.
2. Though Mr. Miller "resigned from all positions within the company," he will serve as a consultant on management issues until May 20, 2020, for $1,000 per month and $250 per hour of work.
3. Mr. Miller has resigned from his position on Quorum's board and as a nominee for director of the board.
4. A noncompete clause was also included in Mr. Miller's resignation, and he is not allowed to work with any hospital or health system within 50 miles of any Quorum health facility.
