4 things to know about Jim Schultz, Edgerton Hospital's newly appointed CEO

Edgerton (Wis.) Hospital has appointed Jim Schultz CEO.

Mr. Schultz has been interim CEO of the 18-bed critical access hospital since July 2014, and has served on the hospitals board of trustees for the past 10 years.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Schultz.

1. Mr. Schultz has been instrumental in a number of hospital milestones and accomplishments, according to Edgerton. Working in conjunction with previous CEOs, Mr. Schultz provided leadership that led to a new partnership with SSM Health Care of Wisconsin in Madison in 2010, the opening of the new green built facility in 2011 and the hospital receiving The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval in 2013.

2. Since Mr. Schultz became Interim CEO, the hospital's patient satisfaction scores have seen an uptick, and the hospital has seen a steady increase in patient volumes, according to Edgerton. In addition, Mr. Schultz recently lobbied for new specialty physicians and services to be available at Edgerton. 

3. Mr. Schultz has more than 45 years of experience with the Edgerton School District, holding positions ranging from business education instructor to director of career/technical education to educational consultant.

4. Mr. Schultz received a bachelor's degree from Wartburg College in business administration/education and has done graduate studies at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
