Hendersonville, N.C.-based Pardee Hospital has permanently appointed David Ellis, MD, CMO, according to a Times-News report.
Dr. Ellis has served as interim CMO of the hospital since November 2014.
As CMO, some of his duties include coordination of the medical staff activities and making sure viewpoints of all physicians are presented and considered as part of Pardee strategic decisions, according to the report.
Here are four things to know about Dr. Ellis.
1. Dr. Ellis was a partner with Hendersonville OB/GYN before founding his own practice in 1998.
2. Dr. Ellis has held several positions with Pardee, including medical chief of staff and chairman of the medical executive committee. He has also served on the hospital board.
3. Dr. Ellis is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and will continue to treat patients at his office in Hendersonville.
4. Dr. Ellis graduated from Amherst (Mass.) College with degrees in English and economics. He studied medicine at Tulane University in New Orleans and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
