31 latest hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive moves in the last week.

The moves are listed below, in alphabetical order by the executive's last name.

1. Sanford-based Central Florida Regional Hospital appointed Trey Abshier CEO, effective Feb. 4.

2. Templeton, Calif.-based Twin Cities Community Hospital selected Robert Cook, BSN, MSN, to serve as its permanent chief nursing officer.

3. Richmond-based Virginia Commonwealth University Health System tapped Deborah Davis to serve as chief of strategic initiatives, effective Jan. 2.

4. Kinston, N.C.-based UNC Lenoir Health Care hired James D. Dennard Jr., to serve as president and CEO, effective in March.

5. Topeka, Kan.-based Stormont Vail Health named Kevin D. Dishman, MD, senior vice president and CMO.

6. Memorial Hospital of Tampa (Fla.) appointed Cathy Edmisten, RN, COO.

7. Pender (Neb.) Community Hospital District selected Paul Edwards to serve as COO.

8. Valhalla, N.Y.-based Westchester Medical Center Health Network appointed Paula Fessler, MSN, RN, chief nurse executive for its Valhalla and Poughkeepsie campuses.

9. Easton (Pa.) Hospital appointed Linda J. Grass its permanent president, effective immediately.

10. Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, Calif., selected Rex Hoffman, MD, to serve as CMO.

11. Wilson Health in Sidney, Ohio, selected Mark Klosterman to serve as president and CEO, effective Jan. 21.

12. Kalispell (Mont.) Regional Healthcare appointed Craig Lambrecht, MD, as president and CEO, effective in early February.

13. Memphis, Tenn.-based Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare selected Chuck Lane to serve as senior vice president and CFO.

14. AdventHealth North Pinellas in Tarpon Springs, Fla., tapped Michael Longley, MD, to serve as CMO, effective Feb. 18.

15. Detroit Medical Center selected Leonardo Lozada, MD, to serve as CMO for three of its hospitals.

16. Detroit Medical Center appointed Travis Maher, BSN, chief nursing officer for three of its hospitals.

17. Kissimmee, Fla.-based Osceola Regional Medical Center hired Joseph Mazzola, DO, to serve as CMO.

18. Cleveland Clinic Akron (Ohio) General named Sheila Miller, MSN, DNP, RN, chief nursing officer.

19. Medical City Fort Worth (Texas) tapped JW Newman to serve as COO, effective Jan. 14.

20. Corinth, Miss.-based Magnolia Regional Health Center COO Angela Nowlin is no longer employed with the 200-bed community hospital.

21. Oklahoma City, Okla.-based Integris Baptist Medical Center appointed Lewis Perkins, BSN, MSN, RN, chief nursing officer.

22. Coudersport, Pa.-based UPMC Cole President and CEO Ed Pitchford plans to retire in March.

23. El Segundo, Calif.-based American Academic Health System, an operator of acute care hospitals, named Suzanne Richards CEO of Hahnemann University Hospital in Center City, Pa., and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.

24. Albuquerque, N.M.-based Lovelace Health System appointed Denzil Ross COO of Lovelace Medical Center and administrator of the Heart Hospital of New Mexico, both based in Albuquerque.

25. Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health selected Kirsten Royster to serve as president and COO of Novant Health Kernersville (N.C.) Medical Center.

26. Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth named Karen Santangelo chief development officer of its Columbia network, effective Jan. 28.

27. Boca Raton, Fla.-based Cancer Treatment Centers of America selected Julian Schink, MD, to serve as CMO.

28. Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems appointed Michael J. Stenger permanent CEO of Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City, effective Jan. 14.

29. Columbus, Ohio-based Nationwide Children's Hospital tapped Lorina Wise to serve as chief human resources officer.

30. Lewiston-based Central Maine Healthcare appointed Peter J. Wright president of Bridgton (Maine) Hospital and Rumford (Maine) Hospital, effective in mid-March.
