2 Aspirus Health regional presidents to retire, successors named

Wausau, Wis.-based Aspirus Health has shared that Robert Smith, president of its Wisconsin southeast division, will retire in September and Brian Kief, president of the health system's Wisconsin south and southwest division, will retire in December.

Carrie Penovich was named president of Aspirus Health's Wisconsin southeast division, effective immediately, and will be responsible for daily operational oversight for Aspirus Stevens Point (Wis.) Hospital and Aspirus Plover (Wis.) Hospital, according to a Sept. 4 news release shared with Becker's

Ms. Penovich previously served as chief administrative officer for Aspirus Health's Wisconsin southeast division.

Chris Squire also joined Aspirus Health Sept. 3 as its president of Wisconsin south and southwest divisions. In his new role, Mr. Squire will provide daily operational oversight for Portage, Wis.-based Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital and Wisconsin Rapids-based Aspirus Riverview Hospital.

Prior to his new role, Mr. Squire served as president and CEO of Otsego Memorial Hospital.
