15 latest hospital, health system CEO moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system CEO moves in the last week.

They are listed below, in alphabetical order.

1. Moody Chisholm will serve as president and CEO of the newly formed UT Health East Texas.

2. Timothy A. Churchill, interim president and CEO of Farmington, Maine-based Franklin Community Health Network, will now lead the integrated rural network permanently.

3. Tim Cook, currently CEO of Florida Hospital Apopka and Florida Hospital Winter Garden, will take over as CEO of Florida Hospital Altamonte.

4. Panama City, Fla.-based Bay Medical Sacred Heart CEO Steve Grubbs resigned, effective Feb. 19.

5. Orlando-based Florida Hospital selected Doug Harcombe as CEO of Florida Hospital Celebration Health.

6. Nantucket (Mass.) Cottage Hospital President and CEO Margot Hartmann, MD, PhD, is retiring, effective in the summer of 2019.

7. Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic President and CEO John Noseworthy, MD, will retire at the end of 2018, ending a nine-year tenure.

8. Darren Pearce, BSN, CEO of Navicent Health Baldwin in Milledgeville, Ga., resigned after serving in the role for a little over three months.

9. Peggy A. Sebastian, president and CEO of HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, Ill, resigned Feb. 19.

10. Monroe County Hospital in Forsyth, Ga., named Lorraine Smith CEO.

11. Catholic Health in Buffalo N.Y., a health system with annual revenues of more than $1.1 billion, named Mark Sullivan president and CEO, effective March 1.

12. El Paso, Texas-based The Hospitals of Providence named Nicholas Tejeda CEO of the Sierra Campus in El Paso.

13. Carson City, Mich.-based Sparrow Carson Hospital's President and CEO Matthew Thompson left his post Feb. 16, just 10 days after CMS threatened to revoke the hospital's Medicare funding over infection control concerns.

14. South Peninsula Hospital in Homer, Alaska, appointed Joseph Woodin CEO, effective March 26.

15. Monica Vargas-Mahar will succeed J. Phillip Young as CEO of The Hospitals of Providence's East Campus in El Paso, Texas.
