11 latest hospital, health system executive resignations

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following latest hospital and health system executive resignations.

They are listed below, in alphabetical order.

1. M. Osman Akhtar, COO of Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services, is resigning for a new opportunity "outside of traditional healthcare."

2. Karen Cox, BSN, MSN, PhD, left her position as executive vice president and COO of Children's Mercy Kansas City (Mo.) to join Downers Grove, Ill.-based Chamberlain University Aug. 27.

3. Brian Craven, CFO of Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, Miss., is resigning Sept. 28.

4. Nancy Hellyer, president and CEO of Christus St. Francis Cabrini Health System in Alexandria, La., is resigning Sept. 28.

5. Norfolk, Neb.-based Faith Regional Health Services President and CEO Mark Klosterman resigned.

6. Spencer Knapp, general counsel at Burlington-based University of Vermont Health Network, is departing at the end of September.

7. Fred Kniffin, MD, president of UVM Health Network's Porter Medical Center in Middlebury, Vt., is resigning, effective in spring 2019.

8. Framingham, Mass.-based MetroWest Medical Center CEO Jeffrey Liebman resigned Aug. 10.

9. James E. Page Jr., vice president and chief diversity officer at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine, is resigning for a new position at Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Aug. 17.

10. Kevin Seely, president and CEO of HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, Ill., resigned Aug. 6.

11. Eileen Sparpana, CFO of Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain, Mich., is resigning.
