11 Hospital and Health System Executive Moves

The following hospital executive moves occurred within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau, Alaska, chose John Vowell to be interim CEO, pending his acceptance.

2. Alyson Giles, president and CEO of Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, N.H., stepped down.

3. Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind., named Erica Wehrmeister COO.

4. Sherry Perkins, PhD, RN, was promoted to the position of COO of Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Md.

5. Betsy Kuzas was named executive vice president and COO at Phoenix Children's Hospital.

6. William Patten Jr. will be the new CEO of Powell Valley Healthcare, in Powell, Wyo., beginning in Feb. 2012.

7. Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia appointed John N. Kastanis, FACHE, as interim chief executive officer.

8. Ruth W. Brinkley was named CEO of KentuckyOne Health, the organization created from the recent merger of Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare and Saint Joseph Health System.

9. Daryl Tol, market CEO for the Florida Hospital Volusia/Flagler Market, will transition to serve in both this role and as CEO of Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach. Mark LaRose, current CEO of FHMMC, will take over Mr. Tol's position as interim CEO of Florida Hospital DeLand.

10. Trent Crable, CEO of George Washington Hospital in Washington, D.C., was out since Sept. 30. George Washington Hospital, which is owned by Universal Health Services, did not announce Mr. Crable's resignation until recently for unknown reasons.

11. Charles Nasem was appointed president and CEO of Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe.
