10 latest hospital, health system executive resignations

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following latest hospital and health system executive resignations. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Poonam Alaigh, MD, acting under secretary of health at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, left her role Oct. 7.

2. Nancy Schmid, CEO of Healdsburg (Calif.) District Hospital and its operator North Sonoma County Health Care District, is resigning.

3. Robert Rupp, CEO of Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado, is resigning to take on a new job opportunity.

4. Brenda Yee, CEO of San Francisco-based Chinese Hospital, stepped down.

5. Franklin, Tenn.-based Iasis Healthcare CEO W. Carl Whitmer left the role Sept. 29.

6. Kahuku (Hawaii) Medical Center CEO Stephany Nihipali Vaioleti is departing in October.

7. Debra Flores, president of Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, Va., will wrap up her 30-year career with Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare Oct. 6.

8. South Bend, Ind.-based Beacon Health System CEO Phil Newbold is stepping down, effective Nov. 1.

9. Steve Hannah is no longer CEO of Montrose (Colo.) Memorial Hospital, though details of his departure have not been released.

10. Vince DiFranco, administrator of Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, N.M., and Dr. Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari, N.M., left his post.
