The following presidents and CEOs were recently named to lead hospitals or health systems, or they announced their departures.
1. Ron Davis, CEO of Titus Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, will resign, effective July 15. He will be succeeded by John Allen, who formerly served as CEO at Regency Hospital of Golden Valley, Minn.
2. Billings, Mont.-based St. Vincent Healthcare appointed Steve Loveless president and CEO.
3. Sparks Health System of Fort Smith, Ark., named Dan McKay as system CEO and CEO of Summit Medical Center in Van Buren, Ark.
4. Houston Methodist named Debbie Sukin as CEO of its new The Woodlands (Texas) Hospital.
5. Seattle Children's hospital announced its CEO Thomas N. Hansen, MD, will retire in 2015.
6. Jim Atty was selected by the Waverly (Iowa) Health Center's board of trustees to serve as CEO of the hospital, effective Sept. 8.
7. William F. Streck, MD, president and CEO of Cooperstown, N.Y.-based Bassett Healthcare Network, retired this week.
8. The Chicago-based Cook County Health and Hospitals System board of directors unanimously appointed John Jay Shannon, MD, as permanent CEO.
9. CEO Brock Nelson of St. Paul, Minn.-based Regions Hospital will retire by the end of this year.
10. Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health announced the appointment of Herbert C. Buchanan, Jr., as president of both IU Health Methodist Hospital and IU Health University Hospital, in Indianapolis, effective July 7.
11. Delia O'Connor, president and CEO of Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, Mass., announced plans to retire at the end of the year.
12. Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens, Tenn., named Mark Nichols CEO, effective July 7.
13. UPMC McKeesport (Pa.) CEO Cynthia Dorundo stepped down. No reason was given for her departure. President of Monroeville, Pa.-based UPMC East, Mark Sevco, will assume Ms. Dorundo's duties in addition to his Monroeville duties.
14. CEO of the College Station (Texas) Medical Center, Tom Jackson, will step down in mid-July. Mr. Jackson reportedly accepted a position at another hospital in Texas.
15. Valley Health Alliance of Aspen, Colo., hired Kathleen Killion, MBA, as executive director.
16. Regional West Health Services based in Scottsbluff, Neb., announced the appointment of John A. Mentgen as president and CEO, effective August 1.
17. Memphis, Tenn.-based St. Jude Children's Research Hospital named James Downing, MD, as its new CEO, effective July 15.
18. Memorial Hermann The Woodlands (Texas) Hospital announced the appointment of Josh Urban as CEO.
19. David Patak will step down from his position as president and CEO of Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital in Binghamton, N.Y., effective Nov. 1.
