President V. James Fiorenzo: From Pharmacist to President at UPMC Hamot

V. James Fiorenzo is the president of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Hamot in Erie, Pa.

Mr. Fiorenzo has been a part of UPMC Hamot since 1975, when he joined the hospital as a staff pharmacist. He also served as senior vice president of strategic and support services, president of regional health services, president of Great Lakes home healthcare services, Bayside Pharmacy and Physician supply and associate director of pharmacy and drug information. Prior to becoming president, Mr. Fiorenzo was COO of UPMC Hamot.

During his career at UPMC Hamot, Mr. Fiorenzo has developed strategies to enhance the growth and range of services for patients. He has also promoted emerging technologies and innovation to maintain high-quality patient care.

Mr. Fiorenzo serves on the boards of The Regional Cancer Center, Boys & Girls Club of Erie and the Greater Erie Industrial Development Corporation.

He earned a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Gannon University in Erie.
