Ruth Fowler is CFO of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.Good thing the non-profit system has ample cash reserves — a whopping 939 days cash on hand last September, according to Moody's Investors Services. That's due in part to the leadership of CFO Ruth Fowler, a 12-year veteran of CHOA.

Moody's affirmed the "Aa2" ratings on the system's $467 million in outstanding bonds last month, attributable to its "seasoned management" and history of exceptional operating margins. Its operating cash flow margin was 19.6 percent in 2011 and 21.2 percent through the first nine months of fiscal year 2012.

Fowler, a certified public accountant, earned her first business degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her master's of business from Georgia State University.
