CFO Leif Murphy: Bringing Decades of Business and Finance Experience to LifePoint Hospitals

Leif Murphy brings nearly 20 years of healthcare finance and development experience to Brentwood, Tenn.- based LifePoint Hospitals as executive vice president and CFO.

Mr. Murphy took over this year for Jeff Sherman, who resigned from LifePoint for an undisclosed job closer to his family in Texas. Mr. Murphy originally joined LifePoint in 2011 as executive vice president and chief development officer. Previously, he served as president and CEO of dialysis service provider DSI Renal and senior vice president and treasurer of Caremark, a prescription benefit management company.

He has also held leadership positions with Renal Care Group, National Nephrology Associates and rehabilitative hospital services provider HealthSouth Corp. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Furman University in Greensville, S.C., and a master's degree in business administration from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va.
