Doug Arvin, CPA, is not just any CFO within the Cincinnati area. He is considered one of the best.
Mr. Arvin serves as CFO of UC Health's flagship facility, University Hospital, and as vice president of hospital financial operations for the entire health system. With more than 20 years of healthcare financial experience, the Business Courier recently named Mr. Arvin the 2012 "CFO of the Year."
Under Mr. Arvin's tenure, University Hospital's revenue jumped from roughly $551 million to $659 million — all the while University Hospital continues to be Cincinnati's safety-net institution and the area's only academic medical center.
"Doug's deep background in hospital financial operations has served University Hospital well and positioned us well for the ongoing changes we are experiencing in this industry," said UC Health CFO Rick Hinds, who was the 2011 "CFO of the Year," in the Business Courier's report.
Before joining University Hospital in 2009, Mr. Arvin served as CFO of the southeast area for Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston. He also was CFO for several hospitals within Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare.
