Vincent Capece Jr. serves as president and CEO of Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, Conn.
Mr. Capece joined Middlesex Hospital in 1998 and has served in various leadership positions since then, including senior vice president and COO, senior vice president of finance and operations and vice president of finance and CFO.
Prior to joining Middlesex Hospital, Mr. Capece was with Bridgeport (Conn.) Hospital, where he served as director of accounting. There, he was responsible for the hospital's financial operations, such as internal and external financial reporting.
Mr. Capece has helped Middlesex Hospital make improvements and achieve recognition during his time as an executive there. For instance, Truven Health Analytics named Middlesex to its list of 100 Top Hospitals in 2013, and Becker's Hospital Review named the hospital to its 100 Great Hospitals in America list this year. Additionally, the hospital received a Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence from Healthgrades in 2013.
Outside of his time leading Middlesex, Mr. Capece is active in healthcare and local organizations. He has served as a board member of VHA Northeast, the Middlesex County Community Foundation, the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce and the Middlesex United Way. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Mr. Capece earned an MBA from the University of Connecticut in Storrs-Mansfield. He is also a certified public accountant and a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.
