Preston Simmons has served as CEO for Providence Health & Services Northwest Washington region since 2013.
As CEO of the Northwest Washington region for Providence, Mr. Simmons oversees Providence Regional Medical Center Everett (Wash.) as well as 55 health clinic locations, more than 4,200 employees and a medical staff of nearly 1,220.
Under Mr. Simmons' leadership, Providence Northwest Washington has been busy, as it earned a level II trauma designation and launched a breast cancer clinical vaccine trial in 2013.
Before taking on his regional duties, Mr. Simmons was COO of Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett. Prior to joining Providence in 2007, Mr. Simmons gained experience as a senior associated administrator for the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. He also spent time leading a rural hospital in Arizona.
Mr. Simmons earned a master's in health administration from the University of Washington and is a clinical associate professor for UW's School of Public Health and Community Medicine. He is also a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
