Paul Hinchey serves as president and CEO of St. Joseph's/Candler Health System in Savannah, Ga.
Mr. Hinchey was appointed as president and CEO of St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah in 1993. In 1997, he led the formation of St. Joseph's/Candler by combining St. Joseph's Hospital with Candler Hospital, also in Savannah, into a single healthcare system which he now leads as CEO.
Since the creation of St. Joseph's/Candler, Mr. Hinchey has led the system in pursuing partnerships and affiliations to offer patients access to smart and efficient medicine — the system currently has affiliations with Emory HealthCare in Atlanta and H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Fla. The system has also received numerous recognitions. St. Joseph/Candler received a second designation as a Magnet facility in 2010 — a rare accomplishment that is shared with only 31 hospitals in the world — and in 2012, St. Joseph Hospital received an Orthopedic Surgery Excellence Award and a Joint Replacement Excellence Award from HealthGrades. Candler Hospital received a Pulmonary Care Excellence Award from HealthGrades in 2012.
Prior to joining St. Joseph's Hospital, Mr. Hinchey served as senior vice president and COO of Bon Secours-St. Joseph's Hospital in Port Charlotte, Fla., from 1988 to 1993.
