Keith Gallagher was named administrator and CEO of Memorial Hospital Pembroke in Pembroke Pines, Fla., in March.
Prior to joining Memorial Hospital Pembroke, Mr. Gallagher spent 34 years in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of brigadier general before retiring. As a member of the Army, Mr. Gallagher served as CEO of several medical facilities in peacetime and during combat, most recently serving as CEO of Pacific Regional Medical Command and CEO of Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. Mr. Gallagher was responsible for managing multiple physician medical groups nationally and internationally in that role.
Mr. Gallagher also did a tour in Iraq, where he helped facilitate the institutionalization of battlefield trauma care as well as documentation and care flow designs, which ultimately improved practice guidelines for medical care, evacuation and survivability.
Mr. Gallagher earned a master's degree in healthcare administration from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He also holds a master of arts degree specializing in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pa. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
