Jeffrey Flaks has served as CEO of Hartford (Conn.) Hospital since 2011.
Mr. Flaks has been with Hartford Hospital since 2007. Prior to being promoted to CEO, he served as executive vice president and COO of the hospital. During his time at Hartford, he has led many initiatives that resulted in improved facilities and increased patient and employee satisfaction.
Mr. Flaks has been nationally recognized for his work as a healthcare administrator. He was named one of New York's Rising Stars: 40 Under 40 by Crain's New York Business in 2001 when he was 30 years old. He has also received the American College of Healthcare Executives' Regents award for outstanding leadership.
Mr. Flaks has authored articles that were published in the Journal of Healthcare Management, the Health Forum Journal and the Journal of Oncology Management. He was also a contributing author to Information Systems – The Tie That Binds: Re-inventing the Integrated Delivery System, a McGraw Hill textbook.
Along with his duties at the hospital, Mr. Flaks is very involved in community activities. He is on the board of visitors of the University of Hartford's College of Education, Nursing and Health professions; a director of the Urban League of Greater Hartford and on the board of the American Association of University Programs in Health Administration.
