Ernie Sadau, FACHE, has served as president and CEO of Christus Health in Irving, Texas, since March 2011.
Mr. Sadau has been a part of Christus since 2006 when he joined as senior vice president of patient and resident care operations. He also has served as senior vice president and COO and as chief diversity and inclusion officer for the system.
During his time with Christus, Mr. Sadau has led the consolidation of the system's non-acute entities and implemented a new regional structure, among other accomplishments. When he was chief diversity and inclusion officer, he developed the strategic initiatives to ensure Christus lived out its commitment to valuing differences and culture of inclusion.
Mr. Sadau enjoys being of service to community members through Christus Health and helping the system stick to its mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. "What gives me passion, what makes the fire in my belly burn everyday whenever I come to work, is having the commitment to ensure our mission is in place, not only today but for years to come," he has said.
In recognition of his accomplishments as a healthcare leader, Mr. Sadau was named on Becker's Hospital Review's 2012 list of 300 Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know.
Mr. Sadau earned a master's degree in hospital administration from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos.
