CEO Dr. Warren Browner: Researcher and Leader of California Pacific Medical Center

Warren Browner, MD, has served as the CEO of the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco since April 2009.

Under Dr. Browner's direction, CPMC is making an ongoing effort to be more efficient, enhance quality and address challenges faced by the healthcare community. As part of that effort, the hospital has reduced the diversion of ambulances by 78 percent.

Dr. Browner is involved in research focusing on human longevity and frailty. He has also studied osteoporosis and its association with other diseases, such as breast cancer. He is the author or co-author of several scholarly journal articles and books, including Designing Clinical Research: An Epidemiologic Approach and Epidemiology and Public Health: Pretest Self-Assessment and Review.

In addition to his duties as CEO of CPMC, Dr. Browner is an adjunct professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at the University Of California San Francisco School Of Medicine.
